About
It is in a sense a misnomer to have an about page for this personal site. The website is the "about." Which is to say, the site itself is a container whose contents describe, albeit in an abstracted digital form, many of the things that constitute my work and interests. The "about" is whatever emergent abstraction forms out of the site's contents.
As such this page assumes an idiosyncratic but straightforward organization system. Below is a sort of extended CV that references my Projects pages, ordered chronologically. "Projects" is used in the broadest sense: sometimes this refers to "a full time job," or "a product that became a company." Other times it is referencing a creative pursuit, or simply a useful idea (or set of ideas) I workedon and developed over a number of months or years.
I've taken this approach intentionally in an effort to open the aperture of perspective on experience and reduce false barriers between "white collar" / "information work" and whatever multicolor collars you'd call the diverse set of work experience outside of my extensive time in tech and finance.
The fact is I learned far more about how to (and how not to) build and support a team working in a professional kitchen than if I had merely listened to advice from "veteran managers" who never broke sweat at a job in their life. There are many lessons to learn about organizational coherence and culture building from my studies in music theory & composition. Farming teaches you more than a thing or two about doing things that don't scale, and finding the simplest, most expedient solution paths to a problem at hand. These cross-domain connections emerge more and more as this site grows.
The chronology below is not necessarily complete. To understand recent updates, as with the whole site, the Changelog gives, well…a log of the changes. Some Projects (past experiences) may be referenced without a dedicated Projects page. This is typically because I'm either under some form of NDA still, or haven't gotten around to documenting, or some combination of both.
If you really want a standard resume, I can provide one on request if your project is compelling (I begrudgingly recognize there are still some uses for this standardized albeit sterilized form of communication).
